Zusammenfassung

TOR Engineering is seeking a CAD Operator to support transmission, distribution and substation projects ranging from 4kV through 500kV. Open to all skill levels; mentorship and training will be provided to familiarize you with the design work.

You will draft and design, manage CAD files, maintain schematics libraries, prepare drawing packages, and help review junior staff. Strong detail orientation, teamwork, and good communication are essential; Bluebeam Revu experience is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Computer-Aided Drafting class completion (minimum) from High School, College or Technical School.
• Understand manipulation of CAD file management in regards to Overlays/Underlays/External References (Xref)
• Must be self-motivated and able to communicate and work well within a design team to ensure successful execution of the entire design project.
• Must be very detail oriented and willing to receive constructive criticism.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skill and be able to speak up when priorities are in question.
• Must have excellent organizational skills to be able to track assigned job deadlines.
• Must employ time management skills and be able to prioritize and shift one’s efforts in a flexible manner as there will be multiple projects assigned at any one time, each with competing timelines.
• PDF-editing experience required; Bluebeam Revu preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide CAD support to Designers and Engineers throughout the project development and submittal process.
• Interpret conventional engineering design markups made during the redline process.
• Translate verbal descriptions, cut & paste segments, and references to past projects into suitable design implementations.
• Establish and maintain a library for electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical design references.
• Create drawing lists or drawing indexes based on the project drawings for engineers and designers to review.
• Create customer-specific PDF files and bind design packages in various order formats.
• Compose packages by printing, organizing, and preparing shipments of large format drawings.
• Provide maintenance for large format plotter paper supply, swapping out paper in plotter, handling plotter toner replacement, and arranging any required plotter service calls.
• Support the oversight, mentorship, and training of junior drafting staff.
• Support the review of drafting work of junior Drafter colleagues prior to delivery to client.
• Design of projects which adhere to National Electric Safety Code and meet the standards of client and TOR.

TOR Engineering is looking for a CAD Operator to provide design services to support both our transmission and distribution projects & substation projects. The projects can range from 4kV thru 500kV. This position is open to all levels of skill from beginner and up through intermediate to advanced level individuals. Mentorship and training will be provided to familiarize the selected candidate with the relevant design work. Individual should have an eye for detail, have a good work ethic and be a team player. A mind for electrical connectivity, "outside the box" thinking, process planning, process development and process improvement is a plus. Familiarity with engineering plans and adherence to drafting standards is a plus. Creativity is a must. Prior experience in Engineering or a field where you were involved from site/product brainstorming to fabrication/construction will help you succeed in our world.
