Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a CAD Modeler / Design Engineer to develop detailed 3D CAD models for missile systems and mission-related components using SolidWorks.

You will prepare technical memoranda, ensure design standard compliance, and verify interface compatibility with larger assemblies. You will also help establish PDM standards and collaborate with mechanical and systems engineers to resolve modeling issues, supporting traceable engineering workflows and

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years creating 3D CAD models in SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and translate to CAD models.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to produce high-quality technical output.
• Effective communication with customer engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Proactive work ethic to improve CAD modeling efficiency and consistency.
• Able to work independently within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D CAD models of missile systems and components using SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Prepare technical memoranda documenting design assessments, characteristics, interfaces, and findings.
• Ensure CAD models comply with customer design standards, conventions, templates, and documentation.
• Verify fit, form, and interface with larger assemblies and subsystems per design requirements.
• Participate in technical reviews with the customer vehicle design team to validate models and incorporate feedback.
• Support PDM standards, requirements, and best practices development and implementation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems engineers, analysts to resolve modeling issues and improve design quality.
• Maintain organized, traceable CAD models and data per configuration management requirements.
