Job summary

Voltage Energy is seeking a CAD Mechanical Engineer in Timberlake, NC (onsite) to design, develop, and detail mechanical systems using CAD software. You’ll support manufacturing operations, enhance design efficiency, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure high-quality, compliant engineering solutions.

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design standards.
  • Review specifications, sketches, and engineering concepts to determine design feasibility and requirements.
  • Update and revise designs to correct issues or incorporate improvements.
  • Perform mechanical calculations and basic analyses to validate designs and ensure performance.
  • Support prototype creation, testing, and verification to confirm manufacturability and functionality.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate materials, tolerances, and mechanical performance.
  • Work with manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and improve processes.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and assembly requirements.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and installation.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including drawings and engineering change records.
  • Ensure revision control accuracy and compliance with documentation standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into updated models and drawings.

What We’re Looking For
