Job description

Role Summary:

Revamp is hiring a CAD Manager to own firmwide CAD standards, drafting quality, and the templates and content libraries our engineering teams rely on across our utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and substation projects. In this role, you’ll manage and improve templates, layers, blocks, plotting standards, and detail libraries in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, lead CAD implementation and training across the firm, and strengthen the QA/QC practices that keep drawing sets consistent across disciplines.

You’ll partner with engineering discipline leads and the Integration & Process Automation team to find where drafting work can be standardized or automated, and you’ll mentor drafting and design staff—helping teams produce consistent, high-quality deliverables to meet a demanding schedule. Scripting and automation skills are a strong plus and will shape the tools our drafting teams use, but the core of this role is CAD standards, quality, and enablement. As an employee-owner at Revamp, you’ll make a direct impact accelerating the clean energy transition—building tools and standards that scale how we deliver renewable projects, while sharing in the value you help create through our ESOP.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Core Technical & Functional Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain Revamp's CAD standards, including layers, blocks, title blocks, plot styles, and templates, across AutoCAD and Civil 3D for PV, BESS, and substation deliverables.
  • Build and maintain the firm's CAD content library, including standard details, symbols, sheet set templates, and dynamic blocks used across disciplines.
  • Lead CAD implementation across the firm, including version rollouts, profile and workspace configuration, and setup support for drafting and design staff.
  • Define and document drafting workflows and production processes so drawing sets are produced consistently across disciplines and offices.
  • Serve as the firm's primary resource for CAD standards, drafting quality, and day-to-day tool support.
  • Maintain and improve existing AutoLISP routines, scripts, and CAD utilities, and identify drafting tasks that are strong candidates for automation.
  • Partner with the Integration & Process Automation team to specify, test, and roll out custom CAD tools, including AutoCAD .NET (C#) plugins, to drafting staff.
  • Evaluate third‑party CAD tools and content libraries and recommend the ones that fit Revamp's design environment.
Quality, Standards & Compliance
  • Develop and maintain QA/QC procedures, checklists, and drawing templates for CAD deliverables across disciplines.
  • Audit drawings and models on a defined cadence for standards compliance and resolve findings with the responsible teams.
  • Approve changes to firmwide standards and templates and communicate how each change affects active projects.
Mentorship & People Leadership
  • Mentor, advise, and train engineers and designers on Revamp CAD standards and custom tools through written guides and working sessions.
  • Build a shared automation and scripting practice across distributed teams so techniques remain with the firm.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Coordinate with discipline leads to align CAD standards, drafting priorities, and tool changes with project delivery needs and schedules.
  • Partner with the Associate Principal, Integration & Process Automation Engineer on the CAD automation roadmap and the intake of automation requests.
  • Present Revamp's CAD and automation capabilities in client and partner technical discussions when requested.
Systems, Data & Reporting
  • Maintain documentation for CAD standards and custom tools, including standards manuals, user guides, and release notes.
  • Track standards adoption, audit results, and drafting time savings, and report results to engineering leadership.
  • Maintain the CAD standards library and tool repository as the firm's system of record.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned or directed.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, drafting and design technology, computer science, or a similar field, plus 7 years of CAD or design experience in an AEC or renewable energy environment. Ten years of applicable experience will be considered in place of the degree.
  • Demonstrated ownership of CAD standards, templates, and content libraries across multi‑discipline teams.
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including template, block, layer, and plot style configuration.
  • Experience leading CAD implementation, including version rollouts, workflow documentation, and end‑user training.
  • Supervisory or team‑lead experience with CAD or drafting staff.
  • Working knowledge of QA/QC practices for engineering drawing sets, including audits, checklists, and markup resolution.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to document standards and train non‑specialists.
  • Ability to manage concurrent standards, support, and project priorities across a distributed team.
Preferred
  • Experience writing or maintaining AutoCAD customizations with AutoLISP/Visual LISP, or developing against the AutoCAD .NET API (C#).
  • Experience using Git for version control of internally developed tools or scripts.
  • Working knowledge of utility‑scale solar PV, BESS, or substation design workflows and deliverables.
  • Experience with Dynamo, Python, QGIS, or similar automation and GIS tools.
  • Experience deploying internally developed CAD tools to a distributed workforce.
  • Experience in a remote‑first engineering organization.
Benefits for Full-Time Positions:
  • Participation in Revamp's Employee Ownership ESOP program.
  • Competitive compensation with bonus.
  • Full benefits package including 99% employer‑paid health, vision, life, and dental insurance.
  • Medical, dependent care, and commuter FSA.

  • Paid parental leave.
  • 401(k) savings plan with 100% match up to 6%, vested immediately.
  • Profit‑sharing.
  • Paid volunteer time off and charitable donation matching.
