Job summary

AG Express Electronics seeks a skilled Drafter to create accurate technical drawings and 3D models for wire harnesses and related assemblies. You will use CAD tools to produce schematics, layouts, and manufacturing drawings based on engineering specs and customer requirements.

The Drafter works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, compliant with standards, and properly documented. This role is based in Des Moines, IA.

Qualifications

• 2+ years drafting experience in manufacturing, electrical, or mechanical design.
• Experience in wire harness design or related electrical/mechanical assembly preferred.
• Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
• CAD certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for wire harnesses, components, and assemblies.
• Translate concepts, prints, and sketches into accurate manufacturing documentation.
• Maintain and update design files and revision histories per company standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams to clarify design requirements.
