Job summary

Psomas is seeking a CAD Drafter to support our Survey & Geospatial team on transportation and infrastructure projects, producing high-quality mapping and drafting deliverables.

You will collaborate with project surveyors and engineers, maintain drafting standards, and help ensure on-time project completion using MicroStation, OpenRoads and CAD software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ professional MicroStation experience.
• Experience with OpenRoads or related transportation design software.
• Experience using CAD software to produce accurate technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and final maps, surveys, site plans, ALTA surveys, 3D exhibits, and digital data files using MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil 3D, Carlson AutoCAD, and other CAD software.
• Modify survey and engineering drawings as directed by project managers and surveyors while supporting project teams to meet schedules and deliverables.
• Arrange survey and project drawings to comply with established standards while maintaining filing organization and project naming conventions.
• Assist with creating base survey drawings from project scope and support processing and organizing survey data and electronic files.
• Collaborate closely with project surveyors, engineers, and other team members to support multiple projects and ensure timely delivery.

What You'll Do

As a CAD Drafter, you'll support survey and transportation teams by preparing accurate drafting deliverables, maintaining department drafting standards, and helping ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.

• Survey Drafting & Mapping
  Prepare preliminary and final maps, Records of Survey, Corner Records, Site Plans, ALTA Surveys, 3D exhibits, and digital data files using MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil 3D, Carlson AutoCAD, and other CAD software.
• Drawing Revisions & Project Support
  Modify survey and engineering drawings as directed by project managers and project surveyors while supporting project teams to meet schedules and deliverables.
• Quality & Standards
  Arrange survey and project drawings to comply with established state, city, county, DOT, and client standards while helping maintain department drafting standards, file organization, and project naming conventions.
• Base Mapping & Data Preparation
  Assist with creating base survey drawings from project scope and support the processing and organization of survey data and electronic files.
• Team Collaboration
  Work closely with project surveyors, engineers, and other team members to support multiple projects, prioritize assignments, and contribute to successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience using MicroStation
• Experience with OpenRoads or related transportation design software
• Experience utilizing CAD software to produce accurate technical drawings and project deliverables
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate technical drawings
• Ability to manage multiple assignments while working effectively in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Survey experience, including experience working with survey drawings, mapping, or survey data
• DOT experience, particularly on transportation projects
• Experience with Civil 3D, Carlson AutoCAD, InRoads, or similar CAD platforms
• Knowledge of land surveying, civil engineering, architectural, structural, and geospatial terminology
• Experience processing field survey data and electronic files
• Experience with GIS or Revit

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Range: $29.00 - $39.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
• Incentives: Discretionary performance bonus program
