Job summary

SPOON Events, a Catalyst MXE company, seeks a CAD Detailer to join our team in Macedon, NY. You will convert designs into detailed fabrication drawings and collaborate with designers, project managers, and fabricators to bring concepts to the show floor.

Key duties include creating AutoCAD drawings, preparing construction documents, and supporting CNC production. Experience with CAD/CAM and shop drawings is valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Ability to read, interpret, and write documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• High skill level in AutoCAD and familiarity with CAD/CAM; strong PC and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop construction documents, layouts, shop drawings, and assembly details for custom exhibits and trade show booths.
• Prepare show service drawings, including electrical locations, rigging points, and other event-specific requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Shop Foremen, and 3D Designers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review projects during fabrication to ensure builds align with design intent and production drawings.
• Update and revise drawings as projects evolve.
• Provide technical expertise regarding materials, structural integrity, and fabrication methods.
• Support estimating and project planning efforts through fabrication recommendations.
• Prepare CNC-ready files for production.
• Participate in project meetings with internal teams, vendors, and production partners.
• Assist with 3D printing preparation and operation (a plus!).

SPOON Events, a Catalyst MXE company, is seeking a skilled CAD Detailer to join our growing team in Macedon, NY. In this role, you'll work alongside talented designers, project managers, and fabrication experts to transform innovative trade show and exhibit concepts into detailed construction-ready drawings.

From custom exhibit booths and experiential environments to large-scale trade show assets, you'll play a critical role in bringing ideas from the screen to the show floor.

What You'll Do

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, interpret, and write documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
• High skill level in AutoCAD software; skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office; familiarity of CAD/CAM equipment and relationship of CAD to CAM
