Job summary

Dewberry is offering a Summer 2027 CAD Designer Intern position in Orlando, FL. The role focuses on drafting and plan-set preparation for commercial, power, multi-family, and residential projects, under supervision of design professionals.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Dewberryhas an opportunity for aCAD Designer InternforSummer 2027to join ourSiteCivil/Land Development Group in ourOrlando, FL office and work with designers, engineers, project managers, and other professionals.This position emphasizes design and plan set preparation of commercial, power, multi-family, and residential projects.Work activities may include; site layouts, detailing of sheets, profiles, cross sections, and redline drafting for conceptual, preliminary, and final design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting and design services by preparing AutoCAD 3D engineering drawings that compile to create a set of permittable plans.
• Prepare designs from general instruction and preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics.
• Prepare working drawings from conceptual plan to PSP or Development Plan, final engineering documents and construction record drawings.
• Coordinate with other team members including engineers, managers, administrative staff and construction staff members.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• Currently pursuing an Associate’s of Arts or Bachelor’s degree
• Experience usingCivil 3D to create surfaces, alignments and profilesis preferred.
• Strong interest and excels in Math.
• Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects and work with multiple project managers.
• Strong interest in all phases of Civil Engineering including site development, utilities, water resources, and construction.
• High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed.
