Job summary

IKM Building Solutions in Madison, WI is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our engineering team. You will produce accurate technical drawings and documentation to support manufacturing and installation projects, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and senior designers.

The role requires a minimum of two years drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam, and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years drafting experience.
Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their practical application.
Experience with sheet metal fabrication, structural steel components, utility piping systems.
Proficiency with computer-aided design software.

Responsibilities

Create and deliver CAD drawings according to project specifications and deadlines.
Develop drawings from sketches, redlined markups, customer-provided drawings, and electronic files.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and internal departments to ensure drawings are accurate and error-free.
Prepare detailed technical drawings for manufacturing and installation, including fabrication, installation, foundation, and elevation drawings.
Calculate dimensions, angles, and other technical details for engineered designs.
Create supporting documentation such as bills of material and installation sequences.
Interpret customer, company, and government drawings and specifications.
Participate in project and department meetings.
Assist with field activities as needed.
Support team initiatives and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
