Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC is seeking a CAD Designer to support the civil design team with CAD drafting, site plan preparation, and basic design calculations under supervision. The role involves organizing project data, incorporating redlines, and producing plan sets with firm standards, while gaining mentorship and hands-on exposure to professional practice.

The position emphasizes collaboration with senior designers and PMs, opportunities for training, and involvement in field data collection

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, Architecture, or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D.
• Foundational understanding of civil engineering concepts from coursework or prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform CAD drafting tasks including plan sheet layout, linework, annotations, and drawing formatting under direct supervision.
• Assist with preparation of site plans, grading plans, utility exhibits, and construction details.
• Compile and organize project data including topographic surveys, boundary plats, and GIS information.
• Perform basic design calculations such as slope checking, setback verification, and simple area takeoffs.
• Incorporate redline corrections and review comments into drawings promptly and accurately.
• Maintain organized and properly labeled project drawing files and directories.
• Learn and apply firm CAD standards, drawing templates, and naming conventions.
• Support senior designers and PMs during site visits and field data collection.
• Assist with document assembly, plotting, and plan set production.
• Actively engage in training, mentorship sessions, and professional development opportunities provided by the firm.
• All other duties as assigned.
