Overview

Job Summary: Skilled CAD/CAM Designer. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and proficiency in CAM programming; Alpha CAM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete CAD drawings and programs for CNC.
• Order CNC bits.
• Work with CNC operators to maintain bits, perform daily machine maintenance, and ensure CNC systems produce according to CAD programs.
• Train CNC operators.
• Troubleshoot errors from CNC machines.
• Make drawings/prints for use on the shop floor.
• Create basic work instructions for CNC operators.
• Generate programs for twin-spindle twin-table CNC routers.
• Manage tooling and inventory.
• Basic to mid-level understanding of G and M codes.
• Basic understanding of work coordinates and work offsets.
• Develop, test, and improve workflows on both the office side and on the shop floor.

Goals

• Looking to expand the capabilities of the shop by taking on new projects and developing new processes (pre-hang, assembled doors).
• Basic knowledge of coding in any language, but VBA is a big plus.
• Use of/experience with right angle or fourth axis tooling.
• Working with team on cosmetic designs and feasibility for manufacturing.
