Job Description:
- The CAD Designer is responsible for preparing and maintaining engineering or sustaining project design layouts, production drawings and other related documentation per ANSI/ Client standards, considering methods of manufacture and tolerance and their effect on related parts or assemblies.
- Function as a design engineer for routine/correction. Prepare average complexity original mechanical layouts using the CAD system.
- Depending on seniority, use the CAD system to prepare and maintain highest complexity mechanical and average complexity electrical and electronic product and production drawings and other related documentation from layouts, sketc.hes or verbal instructions.
- Be responsible for accuracy of assignments, except for design features that are the responsibility of the project engineer.
- Understand ANSI/Client drafting methods, standards and procedures.
- Understand Client manufacturing processes and techniques, and interpretation of ANSI/Client standards and procedures.
- Possesses basic knowledge of the mechanical and, depending on the seniority, partial to total knowledge of the electrical and electronic Product Line.
- Maintain status reports on all projects assigned.
- Responsible for preparing/maintaining mold drawings for Tooling work orders and creation and revision of mold component bills of materials for mold and fixture design.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production and R&D to improve and standardize existing and future mold designs.
- Work hands on when needed with mold assembly/disassembly, inspection/measuring, reverse engineering, making models/drawings, etc.
- Troubleshoot complex tooling, equipment, and process problems and to develop manufacturing methods leading to improved safety, quality, and delivery at reduced costs.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned drafting projects.
- Perform various other duties and activities within the physical constraints of the job.

Required Qualifications
- Entry-level position
- Working knowledge and experience with Autodesk Inventor
- Basic CAD drafting and design experience.
- Ability to create and modify engineering drawings and models.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Experience performing tolerance studies.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
- Training, coursework, certification, technical degree, or documented experience in CAD design or drafting.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
