Job summary

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior CAD Designer to join our Dahlgren, VA team supporting NSWCDD. You will develop mechanical designs and technical engineering documentation for information systems used in naval combat operations, applying ASME Y14 standards and SolidWorks to produce precise designs for manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and repair.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of experience in analysis and mechanical design of hardware and firmware.
• Experience creating system-level and component-level technical engineering documentation.
• Experience maintaining information systems, SolidWorks, and peripheral test equipment used in a laboratory environment.
• Experience interpreting and applying military and industry specifications related to development of information systems.
• Experience creating and validating work instructions and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME Y14 Series Standards.
• Experience using system design software, including Computer Aided Design and state-of-the-art software for system and component design.
• Experience supporting shipboard installation, maintenance, and repair of information systems supporting naval combat operations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the DoD/Navy clearance required by the final DD254/JPAS.

This role develops mechanical design and technical engineering documentation for information systems supporting naval combat operations. The CAD Designer, Senior applies ASME Y14 standards, SolidWorks, and system/component design tools to produce accurate design products for manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and repair.
