Dental Metrics Maven in Birmingham, AL seeks a skilled Dental CAD/CAM Designer to join our growing digital department. You will design dental restorations using 3Shape and Exocad, focusing on Crown & Bridge, implants, and complex cases while ensuring accuracy, occlusion, and esthetics.

You will review prescriptions, interpret case requirements, and collaborate with technicians to maintain production timelines and high-quality restorations.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience as a Dental CAD/CAM Designer in a dental lab.
• Strong working knowledge of 3Shape and/or Exocad.
• Experience designing Crown & Bridge restorations.
• Solid understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, margins, contacts, and esthetics.

Responsibilities

• Design dental restorations using 3Shape and/or Exocad.
• Design Crown & Bridge restorations, implant restorations, and more complex cases.
• Support full-arch, All-on-X, and large reconstructive cases as needed.
• Review digital scans, prescriptions, and case requirements before design.
• Ensure designs meet standards for anatomy, occlusion, margins, contacts, function, and esthetics.
• Communicate with lab team to clarify instructions and resolve questions.
• Collaborate with technicians, managers, and clinical partners on complex cases.
• Maintain consistent quality while meeting production deadlines.
• Help improve digital workflows and production efficiency.
• Provide guidance to junior team members as appropriate to experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design dental restorations using 3Shape and/or Exocad.
• Design Crown & Bridge restorations, implant restorations, and more complex restorative cases based on experience.
• Support full-arch, All-on-X, and large reconstructive cases as needed.
• Review digital scans, prescriptions, and case requirements before beginning each design.
• Ensure designs meet standards for anatomy, occlusion, margins, contacts, function, and esthetics.
• Communicate with the laboratory team to clarify instructions and resolve design questions.
• Collaborate with technicians, managers, and clinical partners on complex cases.
• Maintain consistent quality while meeting production deadlines.
