Job description

Overview

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Cable Tray Welder – 2nd Shift at our Sherman, TX location. Core hours are 2:00pm – 10:00pm. Hours are $22.71/hour plus a $1.20/hour shift differential. Salary is a general guideline; final pay is based on skills, experience, qualifications, and market considerations.


What You’ll Do


  • Operate production equipment for welding and fabrication of products.

  • Set up, understand, and operate all welding equipment.

  • Troubleshoot machine problems.

  • Identify and tag shop orders with product, retrieve/enter data into the system.

  • Ensure quality and documentation on all parts.

  • Maintain components and supplies for efficient operation.

  • Weld components based on print specifications.

  • Perform 5S and continuous improvement activities.


Qualifications

Basic (Required)



  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.

  • Must currently reside in the geographic area of Sherman, TX (Active Duty Military exempt).

  • Employment will not include immigration sponsorship or support.


Preferred



  • Minimum one‑year MIG/TIG welding experience.

  • AWS Welding Certification.

  • Minimum one (1) year using blueprints (AWS weld symbols) and simple measuring tools.

  • Basic computer skills.


Position Criteria


  • Solid math, communication, analytical, and reasoning skills.

  • Working knowledge of weld operations, including MIG, TIG of stainless steel and/or aluminum.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally to frequently (33‑66%) and up to 75 lbs occasionally; able to stoop, reach, and bend with or without accommodation.

  • Ability to stand for eight hours plus while performing repetitive tasks with or without accommodation.

  • Ability to read blueprints and use simple measuring tools.

  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and pay close attention to detail.

  • Team player responsible for assembling entire product or component.

  • Ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate.

  • Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays, as required by business need.

  • Requires PPE: safety glasses, steel‑toe shoes, leather gloves, and hearing protection for high‑noise areas.

  • Environment exposure includes sharp objects, pinch points, oil, and sparks.
