Prime Partners is seeking Network Cabling Technicians to support multiple switch replacement projects across San Francisco. Technicians will travel to client sites to remove and replace network switches, tidy and re-patch cabling, and verify connectivity.

Some assignments may require travel to Sonoma with per diem potential. The role offers weekly pay, consistent project work across sites, and opportunities for long‑term placement based on performance.

Qualificações

• 2+ years in low voltage, structured cabling, or network installation.
• Hands-on with switch swaps, rack builds, or IDF/MDF work.
• Familiarity with copper termination, testing, and labeling standards.
• Able to read port maps, rack elevations, and project drawings.
• OSHA 10 preferred; own tools and PPE; valid driver’s license.

Responsabilidades

• Travel to client sites in San Francisco and Sonoma.
• Remove old switches and install new ones in racks/cabinets.
• Rack, mount, and power equipment per project docs.
• Re-patch copper/fiber per plans; label ports and cords.
• Install/test Cat5e/6/6A; terminate fiber as needed.
• Document patch cords, ports, and cable runs.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and verify link activity post-cutover.
• Pull cable through ceilings/walls; perform closet cleanup.
• Coordinate with project teams to minimize downtime.

Position Overview:

We are hiring Network Cabling Technicians to support multiple switch replacement projects across San Francisco. Technicians will travel to client sites to remove and replace network switches, clean up and re-patch existing cabling, and verify connectivity. Some projects will require travel to Sonoma, with potential per diem available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel to assigned client locations throughout San Francisco and Sonoma
• Remove existing network switches and install new switches in racks and cabinets
• Rack, mount, and power new equipment following project documentation
• Re-patch copper and fiber connections according to port maps and cutover plans
• Label, trace, and document patch cords, ports, and cable runs
• Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling as needed
• Terminate and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber as needed
• Dress and manage cabling in racks using proper cable management practices
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and verify link lights and port activity after cutover
• Pull new cable through ceilings, walls, conduit, and pathways when required
• Perform telecom closet cleanup and removal of abandoned cabling
• Coordinate with site contacts, project managers, and network teams to minimize downtime
• Complete daily reports, photos, and closeout documentation
• Follow jobsite safety requirements and maintain a clean work area

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in low voltage, structured cabling, or network installation
• Hands-on experience with switch swaps, rack buildouts, or IDF/MDF work
• Solid understanding of copper termination, testing, and labeling standards
• Experience reading port maps, rack elevations, and project drawings
• Familiarity with cable testers such as Fluke DSX or similar
• Fiber termination and testing experience preferred
• BICSI Installer or Technician certification a plus
• OSHA 10 preferred
• Own hand tools and PPE
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Willing to travel to Sonoma as needed
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
