Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cable Technician to support a major data center construction and connectivity initiative in Red Oak, Texas. This onsite role focuses on cabling installation, termination, testing, and ensuring connectivity to required standards.

The ideal candidate will handle 12-hour shifts, operate hand and power tools, and read technical drawings while maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced construction environment. Expect full benefits and stable, onsite work.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new technical skills quickly.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, or mechanical equipment in a professional setting.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of cable pulling, structured cabling, fiber optics, or telecom infrastructure is a plus.

Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cable Technician to support a leading provider of data center infrastructure and telecommunications services. This position is onsite in Red Oak, TX. This is an exciting opportunity supporting a large-scale data center construction and connectivity initiative for a rapidly expanding enterprise technology environment. This role does not require a formal interview.

Responsibilities for the Cable Technician include:
  • Install, route, and secure copper and fiber optic cabling throughout data center facilities
  • Terminate copper cabling, punch down jacks, and complete cable dressing and organization
  • Port pre-terminated fiber connections and verify connectivity standards are met
  • Utilize cable testing equipment, including Fluke and fiber testing tools, to validate installations
  • Read and interpret project drawings, cable schedules, and rack elevation sheets
  • Re-cut and prepare cable pathways and materials as required for installation activities
  • Maintain safe work practices while supporting 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced construction environment
Required Qualifications for the Cable Technician include:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new technical skills quickly
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tools, or mechanical equipment in a professional setting
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Knowledge of cable pulling, structured cabling, fiber optics, or telecommunications infrastructure preferred
  • Experience with cable termination, punch-down procedures, or network connectivity testing preferred
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week, on day or night schedules
  • Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screening, random drug testing, and standard background check

EXPECTED START DATE: 11/2/2026

Compensation for the Cable Technician includes:
  • Salary Range: $41.00 - $42.00/hour, with time-and-a-half pay after 40 hours worked per week
