Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technician to join our team in Oregon. You will move and install large enterprise equipment, help install fiber and copper cabling, and uphold safety and security standards while following established procedures.

You’ll work with a diverse group of engineers and operations staff, travel as needed within and outside the regional area, and contribute to scalable, cost-effective infrastructure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year experience in infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, or related roles.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in team settings.

As the architects and maintainers of AWS's global infrastructure, we manage data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure uninterrupted service for our customers. As an Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technician, you'll work with minimal supervision to enhance network stability and sustainability, while developing innovative automation and scaling solutions. You'll collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers across AWS. Your efforts will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of safety and security while optimizing capacity and cost-effectiveness for our customers.

Basic Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma

• 1+ year experience in any of:
  • Infrastructure cabling
  • Network deployment
  • Data center operations
  • Technical project management
  • Similar technical/vocational roles

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)
• Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Experience with medium to large, complex project scopes and ambiguous details within work environment
• Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF)
