Job description

About Endurance

Endurance is building the world's first modular subsea geothermal power plants, converting vast thermal resources under the ocean into gigawatts of baseload power. Backed by Founders Fund, Felicis, First Round Capital, and Point72 Ventures, our founding team includes veterans from SpaceX, Helion, Blue Origin, and Apple. We have completed multiple deep-ocean deployments to subsea volcanoes and are launching a long-term demonstration project this fall. By leveraging modular design, manufacturing scale, efficient drilling, and latent cooling on the seafloor, we are pioneering a new category of energy that outperforms traditional sources on environmental impact, deployment speed, and cost.

What you'll be doing

As a Cable Harness Specialist at Endurance Energy, you will partner directly with our Harness Engineer to design and build the marine wiring harnesses that connect our subsea systems.

You are expected to own the harness build and test process end to end. You will turn the engineer's termination specification into finished, tested assemblies. You will set up the assembly and test workspace, design and build assembly and test tooling, build the harnesses, pressure-proof and hipot test each unit, record the results in our MES system, and along way contribute excellent design for manufacturing feedback at every stage.

You will write the work instructions and build-and-test standards, and train others to follow them. You will hold high standards for workmanship and traceability and push the team toward higher quality and faster execution.

This is a critical position. Your craftsmanship, speed, and judgment directly affect our ability to hit hardware milestones on aggressive timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the Harness Engineer to design and manufacture high reliability submarine wiring harnesses for subsea deployment and test systems

  • Perform precision termination work: cutting, stripping, crimping, splicing, soldering, and overmolding

  • Select connectors, wire types, shielding, and routing appropriate for subsea and harsh environments, applying best practices for grounding, EMI mitigation, and signal integrity

  • Pressure-proof and hipot test finished harnesses, and record and manage traceable test results

  • Set up and maintain the harness assembly and test workspace

  • Maintain inventory of terminations, cable, connectors, and associated assembly consumables and hardware

  • Write work instructions and build-and-test standards, and train other team members to follow them

  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and dimensional layout drawings

  • Document builds, issues, and fixes clearly for engineering and QA traceability

  • Troubleshoot harness and electrical faults across test systems and deployed hardware

  • Contribute to safe electrical practices across the lab and test environments

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience building and troubleshooting complex wiring harnesses as an electronics technician, electrical technician, or similar role

  • Strong practical understanding of connectors, crimping, splicing, shielding, grounding, cable management, and over‑molding techniques and equipment

  • Strong soldering skills, including fine‑pitch and board‑level work

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and dimensional layout drawings

  • Experience with hipot testing and electrical test equipment such as digital multimeters, milli‑ohm meters, and insulation testers

  • Experience creating work instructions or build standards, and training others to follow them

  • High ownership mindset and ability to operate independently with minimal supervision

  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, prototype‑driven environment where designs evolve rapidly

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with engineers

  • Able to lift 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building harnesses for marine, subsea, or aerospace systems

  • Experience pressure‑proofing or pressure‑testing subsea assemblies

  • Certification in or knowledge of IPC standards for assembly and inspection (for example IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, IPC J‑STD)

Compensation, Benefits, & Perks

As the company matures, there will be continued evolution and changes to the total rewards and total compensation package. What will always be true is that if we win, we win together. Equity is granted to every full‑time employee as a meaningful piece of ownership. We believe the people building the company should share directly in the value they create.

In addition to a competitive base salary and equity, employees will receive all of our other great benefits and perks, including:

  • Benefits: Health, Dental, and Vision insurance coverage
