Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced technician to assemble cable harnesses and avionics for spacecraft development at our WA site. You will interpret schematics, use hand tools, and test assemblies to support system integration and testing. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and collaborative problem-solving within ACE.

Qualifications

  • Experience assembling cable harnesses (2+ years).
  • Experience assembling avionics or safety-critical devices (2+ years).
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings.
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and electronic test equipment.
  • Understanding of ESD prevention and controls.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow assembly procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Building wire harness/cable assemblies (primary responsibility - at least 90% of daily work).
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies.
  • Integrating avionics and ground support hardware into the software and hardware test beds.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will build and test avionics hardware to support various aspects of spacecraft development and qualification. Responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Building wire harness/cable assemblies (primary responsibility - at least 90% of daily work)
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies
  • Integrating avionics and ground support hardware into the software and hardware test beds
  • Supporting system testing
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with assembling cable harnesses
  • 2+ years of experience in assembly of avionics, medical devices, or other similar safety-critical fields
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and written assembly procedures
  • Experience with common hand tools, such as torque wrenches and screw drivers
  • Proficient in the use of basic electronic lab test equipment, such as power supplies and handheld multimeters
  • Understanding of ESD prevention and controls
  • Good understanding of basic electronics theory – voltage, resistance, current
  • Basic digital literacy and familiarity with Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, etc)
  • Ability to follow written assembly procedures
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and desire for continuous improvement
  • Ability to thrive as a member of a collaborative team
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-year Associates degree in electrical or electronic engineering technology
  • Current or expired certifications in PCBA inspection (IPC-A-610), harness assembly (IPC/WHMA-A-620), soldering (J-STD-001), PCBA rework (IPC-7711/7721)
  • Experience with 5S or LEAN Six Sigma
  • Experience with hipot harness testers
  • Experience with potting connectors
  • Experience with high voltage systems or NFPA 70E training
  • Experience with ANSI-ESD-S20.20
  • Experience with AS9100
Base Pay Range

Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $29.91 - $41.87 Other site ranges may differ
