Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cable and Harness Technician – Level 3 for the Space Sector in Redondo Beach, CA. This 100% onsite role supports mechanical and electrical engineers in developing and testing harness assemblies and components, using detailed drawings for fabrication and test fixtures.

The candidate will perform setup, testing, troubleshooting and prototyping tasks, and must have a high school diploma with related experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 4 years of related experience.
• Experience working with Engineering drawings and written work instructions.
• Knowledge of DC harness wiring using D-Sub, Micro-D and Circular connectors.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
• Preferred: interpret wire lists and perform continuity checks, wire routing and dressing.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, assemble and test complete flight cable assemblies and sub-assemblies under operational conditions.
• Work from schematics, diagrams, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and prototype work.
• Analyze data and recommend modifications to components or test procedures to meet specifications.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical and electrical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, harness assemblies and components. The selected candidate will utilize detailed engineering drawings for fabrication and test fixture setup.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Set-up, Assemble and Tests complete flight cable assembly and sub-assemblies under operational conditions. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications. Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience. No clearance required to start Must have experience working with Engineering drawings and written work instructions. Knowledge of DC harness wiring using various connectors including D-Sub, Micro-D and Circular connectors Must be able to work overtime and weekends when required.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to interpret wire lists, perform continuity check-out to ensure correct wiring, splicing wires, wire prepping using thermal tweezers, spot tying, and performing other various tasks related to wire routing and wire dressing. Experience using basic tools (Torque wrenches, Wire Crimpers, etc.) Knowledge and/or experience working in aerospace Ability to take direction and follow company procedures and processes

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
