Job summary

Pinnacle Cabinet & Millwork, Inc. is seeking a cost estimator to evaluate project costs and determine viable bids. The role involves reading complex architectural drawings, performing material takeoffs, and calculating all costs from materials to installation. You will obtain quotes, resolve discrepancies, and craft competitive proposals.

Collaborating with sales, designers, engineers, and production managers is essential to ensure that estimates are realistic and profitable for each project.

Qualifications

• Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, PlanSwift, or Bluebeam.
• Math & Spatial Reasoning: Strong construction math and translating 2D drawings into 3D cabinets.
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding cabinetry construction methods and manufacturing processes.
• Communication: Ability to negotiate with vendors and clarify bid requirements with clients.

Responsibilities

• Cost Calculation: Compute expenses for materials, fabrication, shipping, and on-site installation.
• Bid Preparation: Draft detailed, competitive proposals and submit them to contractors, homebuilders, or clients.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with sales teams, designers, engineers, and production managers to ensure estimates are realistic and profitable

The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the cost of a project, and evaluating the cost to take on that project. The candidate will be familiar with our competitive advantages as an organization and will be able to communicate those to our benefit throughout the bidding process.
