Job summary

Duncan Aviation is seeking a Dart Team Specialist I to competently disassemble, assemble and transport aircraft cabinets and perform finishing prep in a clean, safe area per approved procedures. The role requires flexibility to transition between cabinet and finish tasks under supervision.

The position emphasizes working to customer satisfaction, with hands-on duties ranging from laminating to minor repairs, while adhering to FAA regulations and internal standards.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year related experience required.
  • Minimum one year Duncan Aviation cabinet making experience and/or combined cabinet and finish experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, assemble and transport aircraft cabinets under supervision to Duncan Aviation standards.
  • Prepare cabinet surfaces and substrates for paint or finish and miscellaneous parts for paint or dye.
  • Perform basic repairs, detail work, polish and clean-up on finished items.
  • Research, prepare and sign off documents per procedures and FAA regulations.

Job description

The Dart Team Specialist I, with supervision, competently disassembles, assembles and transports aircraft cabinets; performs finishing preparation, polishing of parts and minor repair and touch-up work in a safe, clean and organized work area according to customer expectations and Duncan Aviation approved procedures. This position requires the knowledge and flexibility to transition back and forth between a Cabinet Specialist I and Finish Specialist I.

Essential Job Functions
  • With supervision to customer satisfaction and Duncan Aviation standards using appropriate equipment, competently disassembles, assembles and transports aircraft cabinets; laminates, repairs and modifies existing aircraft cabinets; uses appropriate equipment to build and assemble new cabinets within tolerances per blueprints; and performs specialty work using Plexiglas, mirror, sheet metal and solid surface products.
  • With supervision to customer satisfaction and Duncan Aviation approved procedures using appropriate equipment, prepares cabinet surfaces and substrates for paint or finish and miscellaneous plastic, metal and leather parts for paint or dye.
  • With supervision performs basic structural and decorative repairs as required, basic detail work, polish, and clean-up on finished items.
  • With supervision researches, prepares, and signs off various documents for record keeping purposes as required by Duncan Aviation approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, removal sheets, flammability testing, W.O. Sheets, personal training log, FAA 8110-3 and FAA 337's, and other work order related documents supporting the review of squawks and expected hours).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Job Specific Requirements
  • Licenses/Certificates: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; Respirator Fit qualified
  • Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required
  • Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs., occasionally 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works in confined spaces; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products and materials associated with cabinet fabrication; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
  • Environmental: Tolerates work in noisy environments and extreme temperatures
Education And Experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Minimum one year related experience required
  • Minimum one year Duncan Aviation cabinet making experience and/or combined cabinet and finish experience preferred
