Job summary

Bay Area Millwork Fabrication in Tampa is seeking an experienced Cabinet Builder & Installer to fabricate, assemble, and install custom commercial cabinetry and architectural millwork. This hands-on role blends shop work with field installation, delivering precise, professional results.

You will read shop drawings, measure accurately, operate table saws, edgebanders, CNC equipment, and coordinate with project managers and the team to meet project timelines in a busy commercial environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of professional cabinet building and/or installation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings and construction documents.
  • Experience with laminate, veneer, plywood, and hardwood cabinetry.
  • Ability to take accurate field measurements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with team members and jobsite personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Build custom cabinets and millwork according to shop drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Accurately measure, cut, assemble, and prepare cabinetry for installation.
  • Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently, including table saws, edgebanders, CNC equipment, and other shop equipment.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, specifications, and field measurements.
  • Install cabinetry, millwork, hardware, and related components at commercial jobsites.
  • Perform field measurements and verify dimensions before fabrication and installation.
  • Make necessary field adjustments to achieve a proper fit and professional finished product.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship throughout fabrication and installation.
  • Identify problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, production team members, subcontractors, and other jobsite personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and jobsite.
  • Work efficiently to meet production schedules and project deadlines.

About Bay Area Millwork Fabrication

Bay Area Millwork Fabrication (BAMF) is a growing commercial millwork and cabinetry fabrication company serving the Tampa Bay area.

We're building a team of skilled craftsmen who take pride in their work and want to be part of a company where quality, reliability, and craftsmanship matter.

Our projects primarily consist of commercial tenant improvements, with work performed both in our shop and at commercial jobsites throughout the Tampa Bay area.

We're looking for an experienced Cabinet Builder & Installer who can confidently take a project from fabrication through installation while maintaining a high standard of quality.

About the Position

The Cabinet Builder & Installer is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing custom commercial cabinetry and architectural millwork.

This is a hands‑on position for an experienced cabinetmaker who understands the fabrication process, can work from shop drawings and specifications, and can produce accurate, professional installations in the field.

You’ll work both in the shop building custom cabinetry and in the field installing finished products.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a skilled craftsman who takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and can work independently while being part of a team.

Qualifications
  • 2–3+ years of professional cabinet building and/or installation experience
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and tools
  • Ability to accurately read and understand shop drawings and construction documents
  • Experience working with laminate, veneer, plywood, and hardwood cabinetry
  • Ability to take accurate field measurements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
  • Ability to communicate professionally with team members and jobsite personnel
  • Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds and perform physical work as required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Experience
  • Commercial millwork or tenant improvement experience
  • Experience with CNC machinery and programming
  • Experience with commercial cabinet installation
  • Understanding of commercial installation standards and practices
  • Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing coordination as it relates to cabinetry and millwork
