Job summary

Ascend, in partnership with Tronconi Segarra & Associates, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our CAAS practice in Western New York. You will support month-end close, prepare client financial records, and help deliver high-quality accounting and advisory services.

The role emphasizes collaboration, process improvement, and client onboarding, with mentorship and opportunities for growth as we expand our CAAS capabilities.

Qualifications

• Prepare and maintain client financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations and financial statements.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support controllership and CFO-level engagements with accurate and timely data.
• Help onboard new clients and ensure smooth transitions into TSA systems and processes.
• Experience with month-end close, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain client financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements while adhering to accounting processes and workflows.
• Documenting client-specific processes and information.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support controllership and CFO-level engagements with accurate and timely data.
• Help onboard new clients and ensure smooth transitions into TSA systems and processes.
• Translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects.
• Contribute to the development of dashboards and reporting tools.
• Utilize cloud-based accounting platforms and workflow tools to deliver efficient client service.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, client efficiency, and workflows.
• Assist with implementation and optimization of technology solutions for clients.
• Collaborate with team members across service lines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Take ownership of tasks, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and inquiry.
