Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller for its Construction (CAAS) practice in Pittsburgh, PA. This role will service designated clients, provide accounting and finance advisory, and manage multiple projects with deadlines in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has seven years of accounting/finance experience; public accounting and construction experience are preferred. CPA is a plus but not required; CLA offers comprehensive benefits and opportunity for growth.

Qualifications

• Seven years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience required.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in Construction highly preferred.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Take on the role of consultant and advisor to your clients on best practices for accounting and finance-related engagements.
• Provide project management expertise by managing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Foster and build opportunities and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Maintain knowledge of the client’s organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
• Advise management on short-term and long term-financial objectives, policies, and actions.

CLA is looking to hire a Controller for our Construction (CAAS) practice. Opportunities are available in our Pittsburgh, PA location.

As a Controller, You Will

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Take on the role of consultant and advisor to your clients on best practices for accounting and finance-related engagements.
• Provide project management expertise by managing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.

What You Will Need

• Seven years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in Construction is highly preferred.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
