Job summary

Headlands Tech is seeking a Software Developer (C++) to design, engineer, and implement the Firm’s trading software across multiple locations, including Amsterdam, Chicago, London, and New York. You will work with research, systems, and operations teams to build automated trading algorithms and scalable software infrastructure.

You’ll expand the proprietary research platform, improve performance, and support new exchanges and products.

Qualifications

• Degree in computing or equivalent; strong foundation in software engineering
• Extensive professional software development experience accepted in lieu of degree
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills; focus on robust, scalable solutions
• Ability to work in both collaborative and autonomous settings
• Commitment to automated, well-tested, maintainable code
• Experience with distributed systems and performance considerations

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve exchange connectivity and trading system components
• Extend functionality of existing infrastructure and research framework
• Design and implement scalable, automated trading software with thorough testing
• Address performance bottlenecks across code, libraries, and Linux
• Collaborate with research and operations teams to deploy new strategies
• Develop and maintain monitoring and instrumentation for trading strategies and infrastructure
