Job summary

Redner's Markets is seeking a friendly, efficient Retail Associate to provide top-notch customer service, accurately scanning items, and keeping the store clean, stocked, and safe. You will assist at the cashier, stock shelves, and help with inventory tasks when needed.

Responsibilities include cash handling, bagging groceries, and completing daily store tasks such as stocking coolers, gas pumps area, produce, and trash. You may assist in other departments (e.g., sub shop).

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds up to 40% of the time.
• Must be able to stand upright for the majority of the shift.
• Strong communication and math skills are required.
• Dexterity to scan and bag groceries properly.
• Knowledge of store policies including lottery tickets is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Scan grocery orders accurately and efficiently.
• Identify proper departments for items that do not scan.
• Follow cash drop policies and complete required paperwork.
• Assist in other areas beyond the cash register (e.g., fill cigarette racks, coolers, produce racks, bags of ice).
• Clean and maintain store areas including bathrooms, floors, and exterior spaces.
• Provide first-class customer service at all times.

DEPARTMENT: Convenience StoreREPORTS TO: C-Store Manager/Co-ManagerFLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptJOB SUMMARY:Responsible for providing friendly, efficient service to customers, ensuring the store is clean and well-stocked, and handling various store tasks such as cashier duties, inventory management, and maintaining a safe environment.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Scan grocery orders accurately and efficiently. To correctly identify proper departments for items that do not scan.Utilize scan and bag technique for maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.Follow company policy on cash drops and filling out the proper paperwork.Help out in other areas in the store besides the cash register area, this includes but not limited to the following:Filling the cigarette racks and displays.Fill the walk in cooler: milk, eggs, soda, tea, etc.Fill the produce rack.Bag ice when needed.Empty trash inside and outside of store.Maintain neat and clean appearance by the gas pumps which includes washing pumps, filling washer fluid, and filling the towels.Assist in temperature readings at appropriate times.Maintain the grand opening look for the store, which includes but not limited to the following:Windex all cooler, freezer, and entrance doors as necessary.Clean bathrooms and all floors within the store.Front all aisles, coolers, and freezers.Clean outside the store: Sidewalks, empty trash receptacles.Have a full knowledge of company policies concerning in-store lottery tickets.Provide first-class customer service at all times.Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Assist in other departments such as the sub shop, as needed.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Must have dexterity in both hands to be able to scan and bag groceries properly.Must have strong communication skills, to ensure proper customer service.Strong mathematical skills required.Must be able to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds up to 40% of the time.Must be able to stand upright for the majority of your scheduled work shift.Note: While this position description describes the primary functions of the job, it is not a complete description of all responsibilities.
