Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Hardware organization's software team. You will develop high-quality C++ software for on-vehicle and off-vehicle systems that power autonomous vehicle functions.

The role requires experience in modern C++ (C++17/20), embedded or real-time systems, and a capacity to work across cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid position with a focus on safety-critical, scalable software.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Engineering, CS, or equivalent
• 2+ years of production C++ experience
• C++17/20 knowledge required
• Experience with real-time/embedded or distributed systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality vertically-integrated C++ software for on-vehicle and off-vehicle functions
• Analyze field data (logs) and simulation results; participate in cross-functional workflows
