Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a C++ Software Engineer for a manufacturing client to design, develop, and support software for automation and packaging equipment. The role blends hands-on coding with collaboration across engineering teams and direct support of demonstrations, testing, and deployments.

You will work on high-performance C++ applications, tackle OOAD, multithreading, and STL/Boost, and travel internationally to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with C++, OOAD and software development best practices.
• Experience with multithreaded programming, design patterns, and complex system development.
• Proficiency with STL; experience with COM/DCOM, BOOST, or similar template libraries is highly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, testing, and problem-solving skills.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine software requirements for new and existing features.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance software using C++ and object-oriented programming principles.
• Implement, debug, and validate software solutions for industrial automation systems.
• Support equipment demonstrations, qualification activities, and customer buyoffs both onsite and at international customer locations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share technical knowledge with engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python and/or Tcl/Tk.
• Exposure to industrial automation, manufacturing systems, or packaging equipment.
• Strong communication skills; German language proficiency is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed to support customer installations and acceptance testing.
