Job summary

Cantata Adult Life Services in Brookfield, IL seeks a compassionate CNA for our Skilled Rehab Unit on the Full Time PM Shift. The role provides quality nursing care, follows prescribed procedures, and coordinates with other departments to support resident well-being.

You will report to the supervisor, communicate clearly with staff and families, and participate in implementing programs while handling the mental and emotional demands of caring for ill and elderly residents.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification required by Illinois Department of Public Health.
• Completed Competency Test as required by the state.
• Prefer prior CNA experience in long-term care.
• Ability to work harmoniously within a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to relate to ill, disabled and elderly residents.
• Ability to make independent decisions when appropriate.
• Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English.

Provides quality nursing care to clients; implements specific procedures and programs; coordinates work within the department, as well as with other departments; reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responds to inquiries or requests for information; assists the immediate supervisor with tasks to support department operations that should be in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and facility standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility.

Requirements

• Current valid certification of Certified Nursing Assistant credentials, as required by Illinois Department of Public Health or recommendation of an instructor of in-state approved C.N.A. program.


• Completed Competency Test as required by the state of Illinois.


• Preferable prior experience as a C.N.A. within a long-term care setting.


• Ability and willingness to work harmoniously within a team environment departmentally.


• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a diverse group of people.


• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, clients/patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.


• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.


• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.


• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
