Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC in Houston, TX is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate a variety of heavy equipment, perform daily safety and maintenance checks, and ensure proper cleaning and secure storage of equipment.

You will work in an outdoor environment, with 8+ hour days, 5 days a week, and occasional overtime. Minimum 3 years’ experience required; training and compliance with company policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in equipment operating and maintenance.
• Ability to operate loaders, dozers, trenchers, and trucks safely.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
• Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
• Advise Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs

Job Summary

• The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy equipment, such as loaders, dozers, trenchers, and trucks. This role also ensures proper cleaning, maintenance, and secure storage of equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
• Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
• Advise Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
• Participate in routine maintenance and practice workplace safety
• Maintain inventory

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in equipment operating and maintenance

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
• Work near or about natural bodies of water
• Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required)
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time - Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
• Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day
