Job summary

SemiTorr Group, a FloWorks USA LP company, is seeking a Buyer in Hillsboro, OR to purchase materials, negotiate with vendors, and evaluate quotes to secure the best pricing and service.

You will monitor open orders, coordinate deliveries from vendor to customer, and maintain accurate purchasing reports using a computerized inventory system and Excel. Candidates need 2–4+ years in purchasing and knowledge of steel pipe, fittings, and flanges.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of computer-based inventory management systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel beyond beginner level.
• Familiarity with steel pipe, fittings and flange products.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing the procurement queue and analyzing items for potential purchase
• Ensuring material is placed on order
• Following up with vendors, sales and customers to confirm delivery, specifications, and pricing
• Coordinating flow of material from vendor to customer in a timely fashion
• Following up on any order changes, cancellations, process returns and cancellations fees
• Evaluating daily purchasing reports, prioritizing purchase orders by critical need
• Ensuring orders meet the optimal levels to maximize profit and sales
• Maintaining product line purchasing parameters to ensure daily purchasing reports are accurate as calculated by computerized inventory system
• Initiating and verifying price changes in the computer inventory system
• Monitoring open orders and maintaining projected delivery dates

Job Information

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies from vendors as well as evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.

• Working knowledge of steel pipe, fitting and flange products.
• Have 2-4+ years' experience in a related field
