Job summary

Axcelis Technologies in Beverly, MA is seeking a Senior Buyer to own RFQ generation, PO execution, and supplier management in a hybrid work setting. You’ll help keep the factory running by coordinating procurement with manufacturing and quality teams.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of procurement experience, including global sourcing and supplier negotiations. You’ll analyze cost, lead times, and PPV while identifying cost-saving opportunities.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an individual contributor in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
• Experience managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and supporting manufacturing environments.
• Global sourcing experience and commodity expertise preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze purchase requisitions.
• Generate RFQs and execute purchase orders for assigned suppliers.
• Manage purchase order delivery schedules to support manufacturing and operational plans.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of procurement and supplier data within ERP and supply chain management systems.
• Monitor cost, schedule, and scope for assigned parts and suppliers to ensure optimal value and quality.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements; manage purchase price variance (PPV) against standard cost.
• Identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities, including volume planning, tariff mitigation, and total cost analysis.
• Identify new supply sources when existing suppliers are no longer competitive or meet performance requirements.
• Evaluate potential cost savings for supplier.
• Evaluate and recommend cost-saving initiatives such as alternative sourcing and make-versus-buy decisions.
• Partner with Quality to resolve supplier quality and performance issues.
• Collaborate with management on commodity strategies, including business plans, market trend analysis, pricing strategies, and supplier availability.
• Maintain domestic and/or global commodity expertise; support supplier visits and sourcing activities as required.
• Travel domestically and internationally to meet with suppliers and potential new suppliers will be required.

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE $98,703.12 - $148,054.68

This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as you develop within the role. Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular employees working 20+ hours a week).
