Job summary

Fagron Tech is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage purchase orders, vendor relationships, and RFQ processes, ensuring on-time, accurate deliveries and optimal pricing. You will analyze requisitions, obtain quotes, and collaborate with internal teams to meet operational needs.

The role requires 2–4 years of related experience, strong communication, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Place orders with approved vendors following company procedures
  • Analyze purchase requisitions for accuracy and completion
  • Request quotes for products, equipment, supplies and/or services
  • Investigate and identify new potential vendors/sources
  • Prepare RFQs as needed
  • Obtain samples and data for departments as needed
  • Explain purchasing procedures to internal departments and suppliers
  • Manage vendor relationships and address issues related to purchase agreements
  • Follow up on POs to ensure on-time and in-full deliveries at agreed prices and conditions
  • Resolve problems with orders efficiently and promptly
  • Serve as the operational contact to suppliers for documentation
  • Act as purchasing point of contact for internal stakeholders
  • Ensure best prices and conditions negotiated for local assortment
  • Maintain professional knowledge in purchasing for continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with full procurement team to align purchases between sites
  • Other duties as assigned

About The Job

This position is responsible for placing purchase orders (POs), performing PO follow up activities, solving quantity/delivery date issues, validating that all required documentation is available, and negotiating the best combination of price, quality, and delivery to satisfy site operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Place orders with approved vendors/suppliers as required following company procedures
  • Analyze purchase requisitions and review for accuracy and completion
  • Request quotes for products, equipment, supplies and/or services as requested
  • Investigate and identify new potential vendors/sources for supplies and products as requested
  • Prepare RFQ’s as needed
  • Obtain samples and data as required for departments as needed
  • Explain and clarify purchasing procedures to internal departments as well as suppliers
  • Manage vendor relationships while elevating potential issues related to purchase agreements
  • Follow-up on purchase orders to ensure deliveries are done on-time and in-full and against the agreed prices and conditions.
  • Solve problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner
  • Serve as the operational contact to suppliers for arranging timely and complete provision of required documentation.
  • Manage vendor relationships while elevating potential issues related to purchase agreements
  • Serve as the purchasing point of contact for internal stakeholders who need to purchase goods/services.
  • Ensure best prices and conditions are negotiated for agreed local assortment.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and technical skills related to purchasing with the aim of maximizing one’s own professional knowledge and applying it in an optimum manner within the organization
  • Work with full FSS procurement team to align purchases and volumes between sites
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Relevant IT skills (able to work with Visio, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • User-level knowledge of major ERP/MRP systems (Navision, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically (detail-oriented)
  • Strong collaborative and influencing skills, and ability to work well in a cross-functional, matrixed environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive mindset

  • CPIM and/or APICS certification is a plus
  • Experience in working in a cGMP environment, with FDA & State Board of Pharmacy experience would be a plus for any candidate
