Job summary

City Electric Supply is seeking a Buyer II in Dallas to manage inventory levels, optimize purchasing, and strengthen vendor partnerships. You will oversee purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure product availability to maximize customer satisfaction.

The role emphasizes collaboration with internal teams, data accuracy, and negotiation with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing. Experience in electrical products and MS Excel is valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain experience.
• High school diploma, and 1–3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Electrical product and applications buying knowledge preferred.
• PC skills to include Excel, Access, keyboarding and word processing.
• Accuracy, communication, management and relationship skills, telephone skills, and negotiation skills.
• Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute purchasing strategies in alignment with company policies and inventory goals.
• Manage purchase orders, including order placement, tracking, and expediting shipments.
• Maintain accurate product and pricing data.
• Monitor inventory levels, reorder points, and safety stock to maintain high fill rates.
• Review stock reports and adjust purchasing decisions as needed.
• Resolve issues related to shipping errors, damaged goods, and pricing discrepancies.
• Manage returns, including obsolete and slow-moving inventory.
• Communicate product, pricing, and vendor updates to internal teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
• Work with Purchasing Manager to support negotiations on pricing, terms, and supply agreements.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams to support operational goals.
