Job summary

Ford is hiring for a Seat Head Restraints and Armrest Buyer. You will manage cost, quality, delivery and resiliency of the Head Restraints and Armrest supply chain, sourcing execution, and program-specific decisions.

The role requires developing cost roadmaps, collaborating with engineering and strategic Category Management, and driving continuous improvements. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in automotive purchasing, a Bachelor’s in a related field, and proficiency with purchasing

  • Sourcing execution lead (RFx, tactical sourcing, spot buys, contract admin).
  • Own program-specific sourcing decisions and POV.
  • Implement category sourcing strategy meeting Ford's capacity, cost, timing and ESG needs.
  • Manage relationships with Head Restraint and Armrest suppliers; define integration opportunities.

This role is for a Seat Head Restraints and Armrest Buyer - Responsible for managing cost, quality, delivery and resiliency of the Ford Head Restraints and Armrest supply chain. In this position...

  • Manage cost, quality, and material efficiencies (Total Value Management) over program lifetime.
  • Understand and set cost savings goals annually to identify pure commercial leverage versus design efficiencies and end-to-end supply chain improvements.
  • Work with the strategic Category Manager and Product Development to understand latest supply base footprint, financial health ratings, technologies, and trends.
  • Maximize quality integration of tier 2 components into final seat assembly.
  • Analyze market supply/demand balances and deficit risks.
  • Conduct regular design reviews with engineering to identify cost reduction opportunities.
What you'll do...
  • Sourcing execution lead (RFx event, tactical sourcing, spot buy, contract admin, etc.).
  • POV owner of program-specific sourcing decisions
  • Implement sourcing strategy for category, delivering a balanced portfolio of material that meets Ford's capacity, cost, timing, and ESG (Environmental , Social, Governance) needs.
  • Manage relationships with existing and future Head Restraint and Armrest suppliers.
  • Work with suppliers to define integration opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Look at all existing processes and challenge if improvements could be made, regardless of scale.
  • Develop material cost roadmaps that deliver corporate objectives and ensure long-term viability.

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or other related field
  • Minimum 3 years of automotive purchasing experience.
  • Proficiency in Purchasing systems and procedures.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.
This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440.
This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
