Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Commodity Manager to develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned commodities, supporting manufacturing, engineering, and business operations.

You will drive cost-effective procurement, monitor supplier performance, and mitigate risk while aligning with corporate goals and compliance standards. The role collaborates with engineering, operations, and finance to optimize product development and production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and sourcing tools.
  • Knowledge of global supply chain dynamics and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM, APICS) are a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commodity strategies using total cost of ownership principles.
  • Lead RFx processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers in alignment with corporate procurement policies.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery metrics.
  • Facilitate supplier risk assessments including cybersecurity and financial health.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and finance to align procurement with product development and production needs.
  • Support new product introductions and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and contract metadata in ERP and sourcing platforms.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings; lead initiatives to standardize and streamline procurement workflows.

Salary Range: $62,800.00-$83,700.000 The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
