Job summary

SI Group in The Woodlands, TX seeks a Buyer to manage procurement agreements for MRO, equipment, energy and other site needs, ensuring value, compliance and timely delivery.

You will partner with category managers, site operations, planning, finance, quality and suppliers to execute sourcing strategies, manage purchase orders, and monitor contract performance using SAP and ERP systems, while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree; Bachelor's degree in business, science or technical field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and SAP.
• Familiarity with MRP and e-procurement tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Executes indirect procurement with high quality to ensure accuracy in product, packaging, quantity, timing, quality, and documentation.
• Maintains sourcing strategies from Category Managers.
• Responsible to execute Procurement policies and operational models (identification of needs; creation of requisitions; facilitation of approvals; creation and management of purchase orders; support receipt; support Finance in management of payments/compliance; manage contracts and performance metrics; client issue resolution including NCRs; management of item catalog; fulfilment of supplier allocation guidelines).
• Track shipments, expedite and resolve demurrage.
• Ensures ERP processes & data standards are being adhered.
• Supports the Scheduler in executing inventory management processes and achieving inventory targets.
• Is responsible to execute Supplier Relationship Management processes as per guidelines of Strategic Sourcing.
• Supporting continuous improvement in a prioritized way in close cooperation with the Category Managers.
• Monitors contract adherence with respect to quantity, pricing and rebate thresholds.
• Keeps category manager and quality manager informed of supplier performance.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Executes indirect procurement with high quality to ensure accuracy in product, packaging, quantity, timing, quality, and documentation, including import management/administration for imported products/services
• Maintains sourcing strategies from Category Managers
• Responsible to execute Procurement policies and operational models (identification of needs; creation of requisitions; facilitation of approvals; creation and management of purchase orders; support receipt; support Finance in management of payments/compliance; manage contracts and performance metrics; client issue resolution including NCRs; management of item catalog; fulfilment of supplier allocation guidelines)
• Track shipments, expedite and resolve demurrage

• Supports the Scheduler in executing inventory management processes and achieving inventory targets (participates as required in SIOP process; MRP process; inventory budget/target setting process); verifies with Master Planner mid/long term supply requirements
• Is responsible to execute Supplier Relationship Management processes as per guidelines of Strategic Sourcing (supplier implementation/ onboarding; monitoring suppliers via KPI’s/scorecards; auditing suppliers; perform supplier stratification/classification; conduct supplier support e.g. linking suppliers with operations; support contract changes)
• Supporting continuous improvement in a prioritized way in close cooperation with the Category Managers (including KPI management)
• Monitors contract adherence with respect to quantity, pricing and rebate thresholds
• Keeps category manager and quality manager informed of supplier performance

• Familiarity with site manufacturing and services
• Familiarity with MRP and e-procurement tools a plus
