Job summary

Gentex is seeking a procurement professional to purchase goods, materials, and services in support of our diverse manufacturing operations in the United States. The role requires evaluating supplier quotations, cost analysis, and generating compliant purchase orders to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.

You will serve as the interface between suppliers and Gentex, identify risks, monitor market trends, and drive cost reductions to achieve PPV targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3–5 years professional purchasing experience.
• 1–3 years of purchasing experience.
• English fluent; other language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, and services meeting cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Perform cost analysis on goods purchased through should-cost, competitive bid, and/or cost breakdown analysis.
• Generate purchase orders that comply with company requirements.
• Communicate and work to mitigate any supply problems which may impact our business operations.
• Act as the interface between suppliers and other departments at Gentex.
• Identify risks and drive solutions to mitigate risks and escape when needed.
• Monitor market trends and drive favorable actions for Gentex.
• Develop and implement cost reductions to ensure favorable Purchase Price Variance (PPV) targets are achieved.
• Manage supplier relationships and insure two-way professional relationships exist.
• Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback.
• Identify and assess new suppliers that can meet the cost, quality, and delivery expectations for Gentex.
• Other duties as assigned.

What To Bring

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3--5 years professional experience.
• 1-3 years of purchasing experience.
• English fluent, and other language is a plus.

What Will Help

• Requires a person who is self-motivated.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Oracle software experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of your time.
• Commodity specific experience and knowledge-IT or labor a plus
• Automotive industry experience.
