Job summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

Catalytic Combustion is immediately hiring for a Buyer. The Buyer is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating and purchasing components, equipment and services necessary to support manufacturing operations. This position ensures materials are available to meet production schedules while balancing inventory levels, controlling costs, and maintaining supplier quality and delivery performance. The Buyer works closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Accounting to support efficient operations and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Purchase raw materials, electrical components, mechanical parts, hardware, MRO supplies, tooling and outside processing services required for manufacturing operations
  • Review production schedules to ensure timely procurement of materials
  • Create, issue and maintenance purchase orders within the ERP system
  • Monitor supplier performance including quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness and lead times
  • Expedite purchase orders to prevent production delays and customer delivery impacts
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, freight, contracts and supplier agreements to achieve cost savings and maximize value
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier partnerships while identifying and qualifying alternate suppliers to reduce supply chain risk
  • Work with Engineering on new products, product revisions and supplier selection
  • Optimize inventory levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory by analyzing inventory trends, supplier lead times and purchasing data
  • Utilize Non-Conformance and Corrective Action processes to resolve supplier quality issues
  • Lead supplier audits to ensure conformance with supplier KPI’s, ISO quality standards and any applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, supplier performance and operational efficiency
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, business administration or related field is preferred
  • 3-5 years experience of purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment is required
  • Experience purchasing mechanical, electrical, fabricated or industrial components is preferred
  • Experience purchasing in an ISO & UL environment is preferred
  • Travel expected up to 10% of the time
