Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Buyer in San Diego to source raw materials, electronic components, tooling and services for production operations, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive on-time delivery while reducing costs.

You will work with suppliers to ensure quality and cost targets, interpret BOMs, oversee ERP/MRP processes, and support engineering during new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Experience interpreting BOMs and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems; Microsoft AX experience is a plus.
• Experience with electronic components and PCBAs preferred.
• Experience managing Kanban replenishment systems and long-term purchase agreements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

The Buyer will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, resolve shortages, and drive cost reduction initiatives while ensuring quality and on-time delivery performance.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 20% domestic and international travel for supplier visits and business support activities.

Salary Range:

$50,600.00-$67,500.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
