Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a Buyer to ensure uninterrupted material availability for production. You will manage a large portfolio of raw materials, coordinate with suppliers and logistics partners, and support inventory controls across supply chain and operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage 400+ raw material SKUs to ensure inventory levels.
  • Create, maintain, and manage purchase orders for production needs.
  • Communicate with suppliers and 3PLs regarding deliveries and status.
  • Monitor inventory and identify shortages and risks.
  • Expedite materials and reschedule orders to maintain production.
  • Resolve receiving discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Maintain data using Excel and Coupa; collaborate across teams.

Job Summary:

The Buyeris responsible forensuring uninterrupted material availability to support manufacturing operations through effective purchasing, inventory management, supplier coordination, and procurement activities. This role manages a large portfolio of raw materials, works closely with suppliers andlogisticspartners, and partners with internal stakeholders across supply chain, receiving,logistics, and operations tomaintaininventory levels and support production requirements. The Buyer will play a critical role inmaintainingmaterial flow, resolving supply challenges, and supporting overall operational success.

Job Duties
  • Manage 400+ raw material SKUs to ensure adequate inventory levels and uninterrupted material availability for production.
  • Create,maintain, and manage purchase orders to support production and inventory requirements.
  • Communicate daily with suppliers and third-partylogisticsprovidersregardingdeliveries, transportation schedules, material shortages, and order status updates.
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactivelyidentifypotential shortages, delays, and supply chain risks before theyimpactoperations.
  • Expedite materials and reschedule orders as necessary to maintain production continuity.
  • Resolve receiving discrepancies and coordinate issue resolution with suppliers, receiving teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Maintain purchasing, inventory, and material management data using Excel and procurement systems such as Coupa.
  • Collaborate with supply chain,logistics, receiving, operations, and production teams to support businessobjectivesand material flow requirements.
  • Build andmaintainstrong supplier relationships to improve delivery performance, responsiveness, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
  • Analyze inventory trends, lead times, and supplier performance metrics to support continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’sorBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, orrelatedfield. Equivalentexperiencesmay be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, buying, procurement, supply chain, orrelatedfunction.
  • Experience managing inventory levels, purchase orders, material availability, and supplier relationships.
  • Strongproficiencywith Microsoft Excel, including the ability to navigate,maintain, and managepurchasingand inventory data.
  • Experience balancing multiple priorities, lead times, shortages, and expedited orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicationskills with the ability to effectively interact with suppliers,logisticsproviders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with inventory control, demand planning, production planning, or materials management.
  • Experience using Coupa or other procurement/ERP systems. Training will be provided.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, and reporting capabilities.
Compensation:
  • The typical base salary range for this role is $62,000.00 to $92,000.00.
  • Actualplacement within this range will be determined by factors such as relevant, experience, education, skills and geographic location.
