Job summary

RENK America is seeking an entry‑level purchasing professional to support procurement activities across defense, marine and industry sectors. The role focuses on obtaining quotes, managing purchase orders, and coordinating with vendors to meet schedules and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have an associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field and strong communication, negotiation and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Supply Chain, Program Management or related field with 4+ years relevant experience.
• Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Program Management or related field with 0-3 years experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to interact well with all levels of management, employees, and vendors
• Proficient negotiation skills
• Ability to build strong vendor and PM relationships

Responsibilities

• Obtain quotes by forwarding requirements to current suppliers and recommend alternative suppliers.
• Build and maintain relationships with current suppliers and contribute to onboarding of prospective suppliers.
• Assist with procurement operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews.
• Plan materials and/or supplies purchases by reviewing operations plans and requirements.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers and analyze suppliers’ operations to determine factors affecting prices and ability to meet schedules.
• Contribute to purchase order assembly and ownership through the life cycle of the purchase order.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with all related applicable Federal, State, and industry laws, regulations, and standards.

Description

Entry-level professional with broad theoretical job knowledge. Responsible for purchasing materials, supplies and/or equipment in support of business needs. Manages purchase orders, oversees shipping schedules, and maintains purchase order records. Conducts market research to award and negotiate with vendors, including price and delivery terms. Prepares monthly reports to analyze performance and ensure goals are met. Attends buyer meetings. Creates meeting agendas for supplier visits and writes post trip reports with action items. Works collaboratively with other departments to solve problems related to supply chain constraints.
