The Opportunity

We are currently partnering with a rapidly growing aerospace & defense technology company who are building next generation distributed sensing and networked radar platforms, specifically engineered to detect threats like unmanned aerial systems (Drones) faster than traditional systems.

We are seeking a proactive, highly organized Supply Chain Expeditor / Open PO Specialist to take ownership of open purchase orders and ensure critical materials arrive on schedule. In this role, you won't be stuck doing passive administrative work. You will serve as the crucial link between procurement and the factory floor - chasing late POs, solving supplier bottlenecks, and keeping our high-tech manufacturing facility moving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Active PO Management: Track, review, and manage open Purchase Order (PO) reports to identify past-due or at-risk deliveries before they impact manufacturing.
  • Supplier Chasing & Communication: Maintain direct, high-touch communication with suppliers to uncover root causes of delay and negotiate firm, accelerated delivery dates.
  • ERP Maintenance: Keep promise dates, delivery statuses, and vendor notes updated in real-time within the ERP system to provide full visibility to internal planning and production teams
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Buyers, Production Control, and Receiving to align vendor delivery schedules with manufacturing priorities
What We're Looking For
  • Supply Chain Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain, ideally within a manufacturing, aerospace, or technical environment.
  • Proactive Communication: Demonstrated experience directly contacting vendors/suppliers to resolve delivery delays and push for revised ship dates
  • ERP Systems Knowledge: Familiarity tracking open POs and updating delivery schedules within standard ERP/MRP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Deltek Costpoint, or similar
  • Grit & Organization: Strong organizational skills with the drive to follow up persistently until parts are on the dock.
  • Compliance Awareness: Basic understanding of manufacturing workflows (Aerospace/Defense or ITAR environment experience is a strong plus).
