Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply management, or engineering; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associate’s degree with two years of related experience also acceptable.
• Strong vendor negotiation and communication skills required.
• Experience with ERP systems and lean manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Analyze MRP and availability reports to plan component parts per location and product lines; manage late purchase orders and expedite as needed.
• Support production schedules and work to reduce lead times and increase inventory turns; communicate delivery gaps to teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, marketing and dealer networks to provide cost-saving input and drive supplier performance.
• Review key metrics related to inventory, costs, invoices, payment terms, delivery, and quality to meet goals.

Work Shift 1 - First Shift

Job Summary

Are you the type of person who enjoys finding creative solutions to support the sourcing needs of our customers? In this role you will analyze and monitor daily material requirement planning (MRP) and other replenishment systems and partner with production control to meet production schedules, minimize costs, and reduce lead times. We’re looking for someone to uphold consistency, create understanding and consensus, and ensure Vermeer’s intellectual property rights are preserved through the procurement process.

What You’ll Do

1. Analyze MRP or availability reports, review various demand requirements, and order and schedule component parts per location and product lines. Maintain late purchase order report and, if necessary, expedite to ensure parts are delivered in a timely manner.
2. Work to ensure production schedules are met, lead times are reduced, and inventory turns are increased. Respond to production schedule changes by tracking purchased parts, suggesting schedule changes to production control due to parts restrictions, and communicating gaps in delivery to appropriate personnel.
3. Manage multiple projects with engineering teams by providing technical input relative to component design, material selection, and cost improvement requirements. Process engineering change notices per new product and process development requirements.
4. Review key metrics and act accordingly to meet inventory, cost, invoice accuracy, payment terms, delivery, and quality goals.
5. Respond to customer service requests regarding pricing and availability and work with warehouse or inventory teams to review stocking levels.

What We’re Looking For

• - Bachelor’s degree in business, supply management, engineering (mechanical or electrical).
• - Or Associate's Degree with two years related experience.
• - Ability to communicate with vendors in a professional manner to negotiate overall best pricing and set performance standards including, but not limited to; on-time delivery of parts, inventory, cost reduction, and lead time.
• - Ability to lead and reach consensus with cross functional cost savings teams including, but not limited to engineering, procurement, marketing, and dealer network.
• - Ability to provide constructive feedback to fellow employees in a tactful manner; ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints with innovative solutions; ability to be informative and provide professional assistance when working with suppliers, the public, customers and co-workers, ability to influence and coach others to desired outcome.
• - Ability to read blueprints and proficiently operate engineering software as necessary, speak in public with small or large groups, and conduct multiple tasks simultaneously while assigning priorities to special projects.
• - Knowledge of the ERP system, lean manufacturing, warehouse inventory levels, terms and conditions, contracts, pricing, purchase orders, blanket orders and sales and marketing data.

Occasional travel is expected of this position.
