Job summary

QXO, a leading distributor and installer of building products, is seeking a Buyer to support inventory and purchasing decisions in a fast-paced environment.

You will analyze pricing, maintain records, coordinate with suppliers and internal teams, and help optimize purchasing processes. This role is office-based in a dynamic building materials setting.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years Buyer, Inventory, Supply Chain, Operations or related field experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain operations
  • Familiarity with ERP, purchasing, or inventory management systems
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or building materials industries
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process purchase orders based on inventory levels, sales demand, and forecast data
  • Purchase materials using cost-effective and quality-focused purchasing practices
  • Analyze pricing, supplier options, and product availability to support purchasing decisions
  • Maintain accurate product costs and purchasing records
  • Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning
  • Identify and resolve potential material shortages, delays, or supply chain issues
  • Maintain visibility on backorders and communicate updates to relevant teams
  • Coordinate material movement and scheduling to support operational efficiency
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams
  • Partner with sales, operations, inventory, and accounting teams to support business needs
  • Assist with resolving supplier-related concerns, including invoices, shipments, and discrepancies
  • Respond professionally to vendor and internal inquiries
  • Review system transactions and reports to ensure inventory and purchasing accuracy
  • Generate reports and provide purchasing data to leadership as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, inventory management, and operational efficiency
  • Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and records
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and ethical purchasing practices
  • Ensure attention to detail in all purchasing and inventory activities
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
