Crestview Aerospace Overview

Crestview Aerospace is a manufacturing organization working closely with large aircraft and weapon systems OEMs, such as Boeing Defense, Bell, RTX/Collins Aerospace, Northrop Grumman and several others to deliver complex design-to-build and build-to print assemblies. Crestview Aerospace provides these assemblies in support of in-service platforms, such as: H-47, V-22, F-35, F-15, F-16, F-18, KC-135, E-2, and weapon systems such as Harpoon and SLAM-ER. Crestview Aerospace is comprised of two (2) manufacturing sites, with operations in St. Louis, Missouri and Crestview, FL, and employs approximately 300 professionals.

Position Overview

Responsible for sourcing materials, supplies, and services to support aerospace manufacturing operations. This role involves developing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, analyzing pricing and market trends, and ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met. The Buyer collaborates with internal teams to drive cost reductions, monitor supplier performance, and support continuous process improvements while maintaining accurate records and resolving purchasing issues.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Sources materials, supplies, and services that support operational requirements
  • Develops and monitors category strategies and tactical plans
  • Develops and manages effective relationships with suppliers
  • Compiles and analyzes data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives
  • Monitors performance of suppliers and works with Quality team to develop remediation plans
  • Develops cost reduction plans for commodity
  • Stays connected to market dynamics and price trends
  • Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules
  • Develops RFQ/RFI’s, reviews proposals, negotiates contracts, and selects or recommends suppliers
  • May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages
  • Maintains necessary records
  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery and invoice issues
  • Tracks cost improvement for assigned categories
Professional Requirements, Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably business or engineering) with 1-3 years of experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills (both written and presentation)
  • Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and flexible hours as required
  • Some travel will be required.
  • Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data
  • Epicor experience is preferred
  • Intermediate to Expert experience with Microsoft suite is preferred
  • Experience in collaboration of business process improvements
Work Environment
  • Primarily works in an office setting with long periods of sitting.
  • Act-paced aerospace manufacturing environment with a mix of office-based work and collaboration with production, quality, and supply chain team.
  • May involve occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations.

Physical Requirements

Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to maneuver up to 20 pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
