Job summary

Karman Space and Defense is seeking a Buyer in Corona, CA to support manufacturing and production by managing procurement activities, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring materials meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. You will work with program managers, production teams, and suppliers to maintain material availability and improve procurement processes.

• Four-year degree or equivalent in machineshop, metal fabrication, or related field.
• Experience in manufacturing environment and/or related training.
• Knowledge of manufacturing materials, hardware, specifications, and processes.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with suppliers and internal customers.
• Ability to follow QMS procedures for reporting and recordkeeping.
• Ability to understand and comply with customer requirements and changes.

Responsibilities

• Manages procurement activities to ensure materials meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Develops and executes procurement plans supporting short- and long-term objectives.
• Establishes relationships with key suppliers to ensure material availability and performance.
• Evaluates supplier performance to achieve competitive pricing and quality.
• Collaborates with program managers and production leaders to coordinate purchasing needs.
• Reviews purchased products to ensure alignment with specifications and performance.
• Implements procurement procedures per AS9100 requirements and company policies.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements and implements changes.
• Supports QMS requirements including reporting and recordkeeping.

AsaBuyer,youwillsupportmanufacturingandproductionoperationsbymanagingprocurementactivities,coordinatingwithsuppliers,andensuringmaterialsandservicesmeetquality,cost,delivery,andcustomerrequirements.YouwillworkcloselywithProgramManagers,productionteams,andsupplierstomaintainmaterialavailability,supportmanufacturingschedules,andimproveprocurementprocesses.Yourcontributionswillhelpstrengthensupplierperformance,maintainproductconformity,andsupportcontinuousimprovementwithinKarman'sQualityManagementSystem(QMS).

Responsibilities

• Reviewspurchasedproductsandservicestoensurealignmentwithcustomerspecifications,productconformity,andperformancerequirements.
• ImplementsandfollowsprocurementproceduresinaccordancewithAerospaceStandard(AS)9100requirementsandcompanyqualitypolicies.
• Evaluatesprocurementprocesses,identifiesopportunitiesforimprovement,andimplementschangesthatsupportoperationalefficiency.
• SupportsQualityManagementSystem(QMS)requirements,includingreporting,recordkeeping,productsafety,andethicalbusinesspractices.

Required Qualifications
