Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures in Clinton, IL is seeking a results-driven Buyer to support procurement, inventory, and production planning at our plant. You will manage vendor relationships, process purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery while aligning requisitions with maintenance needs.

Reporting to the Materials Manager, you’ll leverage ERP systems and data to drive cost reductions, improve accuracy, and optimize supply chain performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• APICS certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and ERP systems.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement, planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution.
• Monitor and maintain the Estimated Checkbook daily as purchasing guide.
• Ensure timely delivery of MRO and core spend items.
• Use MRP reports and historical data to estimate future requirements.
• Negotiate terms, discounts, and long-term contracts with vendors.
• Prepare and process purchase orders for external/internal use.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies in Accounts Payable.
• Plan inbound material movement from suppliers.
• Align purchase requisitions with maintenance requirements.
• Record-keeping consistent with Arcosa policy.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Manage Purchase Credit Card transactions and monthly reports.
• Respond quickly to urgent purchasing needs under high-pressure situations.
• Other duties as assigned.

WhatYou’llDo:

WhatYou’llNeed:
